PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF ZnO AND TiO2 TOWARDS EFFECTIVE DEGRADATION OF CEFOPERAZONE

Cefoperazone belongs to the third generation of cephalosporin antibiotics. It is accumulated in water due its overuse and causes bacterial, environmental, health issues. In this work, efficiency photocatalytic degradation cefoperazone was studied using different types radiation (simulated solar, UV, LED) presence nanomaterials (ZnO TiO2). First, photolytic examined, where UV showed as most effective for degradation, wherein 29.5% degraded after 60 min. Photocatalysis TiO2 leads complete removal 30 min, while use ZnO 20 min radiation. Simulated solar LED slightly lower efficiencies. When applied, around 60%, approximately 70% when used.
